Published Sep 30, 2009Coming a full 29 years after the release of their legendary Perfect Youth album, Vancouver punk legends the Pointed Sticks have announced details for their second album. The record, titled Three Lefts Make a Right, features 13 songs, all of them new.
As a press release explains, the record "contains the trademark classic hooks and harmonies that have made this band and have sustained their following all these years, but with songs that also have a new harder and deeper groove and a more wistful sense of melancholy and reflection."
According to producer Mike Fraser, who recorded the album at Vancouver's Warehouse Studios, "It's a killer album."
While no tracklisting is available yet, we do know that the album will be released on vinyl, CD and digital download formats on November 1 via Northern Electric.
To celebrate the album's release, the Pointed Sticks will play two shows at Vancouver's Rio Theatre on December 19. The first is an all-ages set with the Evaporators and Pretty Vanilla, followed by a 19-plus set that will feature the TVees and the Strange Magic.
