Published Mar 10, 2015Long-running Los Angeles producer Shlohmo is on the cusp of releasing his debut album Dark Red. Ahead of its arrival, he's shared another video from the project.
The clip, which was directed by Jack Irving, pairs the brooding, atmospheric shot with plenty of evocative home-video footage.
In a press release, Wedidit co-founder Nick Melons explains that the song demanded something to capture "the rawness and nostalgic carelessness we associate with being young." He apparently discovered Irving on Vine.
"He was documenting his days and nights in New York through six-second videos that looked like a modern day Kids shot entirely through an iPhone," Melons added. "We decided to attempt a collaboration, so he would send over batches of tiny clips from which we stitched together the video for 'Beams.'"
Watch the video for "Beams" below. Dark Red arrives on April 7 through True Panther Sounds/Wedidit.
