As I Lay Dying's Tim Lambesis Sued for Setting Woman on Fire
He was also seriously burned in the bonfire accident
Published May 03, 2021As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis is once again facing some serious legal troubles. This time, the controversial metal figure is being sued for allegedly setting a woman on fire.
The lawsuit stems from an incident in December 2020 and has been filed by a woman named Vivienne Barcena. She alleges she suffered second-degree burns when Lambesis sprayed a flammable liquid into a fire pit at his parents' home in North County, CA, the San Diego Times reports.
Lambesis allegedly squirted an accelerant into the fire, causing flames to "explode out" and up her arm, back and mid-section, according to the newly filed lawsuit in San Diego Superior Court.
As previously reported, Lambesis was also seriously burned in the December 12 incident, with the singer posting a photo on Instagram a few days later showing him recovering in hospital. At the time, Lambesis stated he burned 25 percent of his body in a bonfire accident.
According to the suit, Barcena had accompanied a friend to home owned by Lambesis' parents, who are also named as defendants. After the incident, Barcena claims she "lived with intense pain" from the fire mishap and now has scars from the burns.
Of course, this is not the first time Lambesis has been in trouble with the law. In 2014, he was infamously convicted for his role in a murder-for-hire plot against his estranged wife — something that landed him a hefty prison sentence.
Earlier this year, Lambesis also revealed he had contracted COVID-19.
