Published Dec 07, 2020BIPOC Fest — Canada's first festival with an entirely Black, Indigenous and POC lineup — is taking off later this month. BIPOC Fest supports the movement towards equal opportunity within Canada's mainstream music industry.
Running for two nights on December 19 and 20, the virtual live performances will showcase 20 of the next biggest names in Canadian music. Performers include Lane Webber, Sara Kae, Getchnah, Noiir, Peach Luffe and more.
The event is presented by four independent collectives: Arts from Home (a youth-led, not-for-profit organization of artists, educators and activists), Serious Betty (a media house dedicated to connecting audiences to events and creatives across Canada), LUMINARY (an organization that supports young artists and helps them spread their art) and ENSŌ Showcase (a community for emerging Asian-identifying creatives in the GTA).
Ticket proceeds go directly to performers, collectives, and VIBE Arts — a charitable arts organization serving marginalized youth in Canada. You can purchase your tickets and get more information about BIPOC Fest here.
